Animal Use Portable Ultrasound Machine

Portable ultrasound scanners are the second most commonly used imaging format in veterinary practice. Animal use portable ultrasound machine is widely used in animal pregnancy, musculoskeletal evaluation. Eaceni is a portable ultrasound scanner producer.

Ultrasonography in Animals
In veterinary medicine, ultrasonography is the second most popular imaging format. Based on the pattern of echoes reflected from the tissues and organs being photographed, it generates pictures of bodily structures using ultrasonic sound waves with a frequency range of 1.5 to 15 megahertz (MHz) .
The most familiar mode of the portable ultrasound scanner is the B-mode grayscale scan. The acoustic beam is produced by a transducer that is in contact with the animal and is acoustically coupled to the animal through the transmission gel. Ultrashort pulses of sound are directed into the animal, after which the sensor switches to receive mode. Using information from multiple echoes, the animal use portable ultrasound machine creates an image that represents how the tissue looks when cut in the same plane of the anatomical sample.
Portable ultrasound scanners cannot be used to scan air or bone tissue. The sound beam is completely reflected at the soft tissue/gas interface and absorbed at the soft tissue/bone interface. Gas and bones also “shadow” any other organs outside of them. Bowel gas can inhibit imaging of adjacent abdominal organs, and the heart must be imaged from locations that do not require sound beams to pass through the lungs.
Portable ultrasound scanners are also widely used to evaluate the soft tissues of the musculoskeletal system. In equines, the animal use portable ultrasound machine is used to detect and assess for tears in the tendons and ligaments of the legs. Examination of joints and periarticular skeletal margins in large and small animals is also widely performed and yields information not available with standard radiological evaluation. Of course, an animal use portable ultrasound machine cannot be used to assess the bone itself, so the two imaging methods complement each other. In small animals, soft tissue damage to the ligaments, tendons, joint capsules, and articular cartilage of the shoulder and knee joints is easily detected by an experienced examiner.
Animal use portable ultrasound machine can also be used to guide biopsy instruments to obtain tissue for specific pathological diagnosis and is safer and more diagnostic than blind biopsy. This avoids the need for open surgical exploration in many cases. Ultrasound-guided biopsy and lesion aspiration can also be performed in larger animals without general anesthesia.
Echocardiography
As mentioned above, the most familiar mode of the portable ultrasound scanner is the B-mode grayscale scan. Otherwise an echocardiogram is an ultrasound assessment of the heart. In the past, it was done using the M-mode format that displays ultrasound information. A narrow beam of sound is projected onto the heart, and echo patterns and intensities are displayed on a continuous screen, similar to the familiar ECG format, to assess the motion patterns and amplitudes of the chamber walls of the heart and valves, as well as the corresponding structures along the beam’s path. size. The M-mode format has very high temporal resolution, making it particularly suitable for evaluating rapidly moving structures such as heart valve leaflets.
Contrast Ultrasonography (CUES)
Ultrasound contrast agents increase the reflectivity of the blood and any tissue through which the blood flows. The enhancement of blood reflectivity is usually achieved by infusing or forming transient microscopic bubbles in the plasma. The increase in echo intensity is related to the amount of blood flowing through the tissue. The air bubbles are quickly absorbed by the plasma and therefore do not pose an embolic hazard. The ability to assess tissue vascularity provides additional information about the type of lesions present. However, they are very expensive, which precludes their use in all but special cases or funded research.
